An Introduction to Non-Terrestrial Networks
Course Overview
This training course is designed to provide policymakers and regulators with an in-depth understanding of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs) and their integration with 5G technology. During the course we will cover NTNs that are designed to deliver broadband to homes and business in order to compete with Fibre and Fixed Wireless Access solutions, such as Starlink, Eutelsat OneWeb and Amazon Kuiper. However, the main focus of the course will be on direct-to-device (D2D) solutions. These are an emerging class of satellite services that can establish a direct connection between a satellite and a smartphone.

Course Structure and Study Time
This self-paced course consists of eight sessions and an assignment. Each of the sessions includes a knowledge check.
It should not take you more than two to three hours of study time per week to complete the course in four weeks. You will have, however, seven weeks to complete the course.

- correctly answer all the questions in the knowledge checks you will find at the end of the sessions (you have unlimited attempts to pass the knowledge checks).
