Course Overview
Competition in mobile telecommunications is multifaceted and dynamic. Telecommunications professionals must be alert to the regulation affecting mobile infrastructure.
This self-paced course provides a foundation for understanding the rules of competition and the regulatory powers that apply to the telecommunications sector, taking into account the wider competitive landscape, which now includes Over-The-Top players.

- Understand the application of competition law as it applies to the telecommunications sector, especially abuse of dominance and merger control.
- Look at the interaction between competition law and regulation, especially Significant Market Power/Dominant Carrier regulation.
- Compare the treatment of the telecommunications sector in regulation and competition law with the situation in the wider communications ecosystem.

Course Structure and Study Time
This self-paced course consists of six sections and an assignment. Each of the sections includes a knowledge check.
The course should take approximately 8–10 hours to complete. However, you will have 12 months from enrollment to finish it.
Course Completion Certificate
To qualify for a course completion certificate, you will need to:
- view the six course sections;
- correctly answer all the questions in the knowledge checks you will find as you progress through the sections (you will have unlimited attempts to pass the knowledge checks);
- submit an assignment, which will need to be approved by the GSMA; and
- fill out the course survey.
