Barbara Pareglio
Senior Technical Director, GSMA
Since joining the GSMA in 2014, Barbara has been a technical lead for various areas, including 5G, IoT, automotive, aviation, and satellite. Her work involves exploring how to best utilise new technologies and services from evolving mobile networks like 5G-Advanced. She also leads several activities and communities with GSMA members, particularly those related to smart mobility, including automotive and advanced air mobility, and Non-terrestrial Networks. This includes leading the GSMA Drone Interest Group and the Aerial Connectivity Joint Activity, which aim to help the mobile industry create trusted solutions for commercial unmanned aircraft by investigating the features and capabilities of 4G and 5G needed for aviation.

Chadi Hazzoury
General Manager at KLabs International
Chadi is a senior telecom consultant with over 13 years of experience. His expertise includes 5G technology, RAN, Core, LTE, GSM, WCDMA, Cloud and Transmission, with a wide range of multivendor certifications.
Prior to his current role, Chadi worked as a Senior Telecom Consultant and Senior Telecom Trainer/Instructor at NGEN Telecom, where he conducted courses for various telecom operators, enterprises and governments . He also has experience as a Software Developer at CITS and a Mobile Applications Developer at MOBILONIA.

Dr. Drew MacFarlane
Head of GSMA Advance
Drew is responsible for curating learning content for industry professionals by distilling the GSMA’s extensive experience and insights into topics critical for the growth and resilience of the mobile sector.
Before joining the GSMA in 2024, Drew came from the higher education sector. He lectured in linguistics at the University of York and later worked in education consulting in Shanghai and Hong Kong. Prior to his current role, he was the Head of Rankings for QS’s World University Rankings, where he was responsible for collecting and analysing data on thousands of universities and consulting on their performance. He has presented globally on the topic of how universities can best position themselves to meet the educational needs and challenges of the 21st century.

Emanuel Kolta
Lead Analyst, GSMA Intelligence
Specialising in network innovation and sustainability, Emanuel’s work involves research, analysis, and benchmarking on topics such as innovation related to cellular technologies, energy efficiency and sustainability. He aims to identify operational, financial, and environmental benefits for mobile network operators and technology vendors.
Emanuel led GSMA Intelligence’s multi-year Energy Efficiency Analysis and Benchmarking project, which covered numerous mobile networks and connections globally. He has authored and co-authored several research papers and analyses, including “Going Green: benchmarking the Energy Efficiency of Mobile” and “The Essential Role of AI in Improving Energy Efficiency.”
Emanuel holds an MSc in International Economics and Business from the University of Groningen and a BSc in Applied Economics from the Corvinus University of Budapest.

Faisal Zia
Technical Director, GSMA
Faisal leads business development and growth opportunities for GSMA Foundry, the organization’s innovation accelerator. In this role, he collaborates with industry partners to foster innovation and accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge solutions, with a focus on areas like Artificial Intelligence, Non-Terrestrial Networks, and 5G.
He is a seasoned project and programme specialist with extensive experience across the technology and telecommunications sectors, encompassing emerging technologies, next-gen networks, technology strategy, and agile operating models. Before joining the GSMA, Faisal worked at Orange Group and EE/BT, and has experience in various IT, rail, and fintech sectors. He also serves as the Technical Lead for the Sports and Entertainment Summit at MWC Barcelona.

George Kamiya
Drector of Climate Action, GSMA
In his role, George provides strategic advice and analysis on energy, climate, and circular economy to support the mobile industry’s transition to net zero by 2050. He is a lead author of reports such as “Rethinking Mobile Phones: the business case for circularity” and the GSMA’s annual Mobile Net Zero report.
Before joining the GSMA in 2023, George worked for the International Energy Agency (IEA/OECD) for eight years. He holds a Master’s degree in Resource Management (Energy and Transport) and serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Industrial Ecology’s Special Issue on Environmental Impacts of the Digital Economy.

Henry Calvert
Head of Networks, GSMA
Henry has held his position as Head of Networks since joining the GSMA in December 2013. He is responsible for the Future Networks Programme, a key strategic focus for the GSMA aiming to achieve industry scale for IP Communications and 5G, while addressing network economic challenges during the transition to the 5G era.
With over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, encompassing both network and IT portfolios, Henry has been involved in deploying mobile networks in over 10 countries. Prior to the GSMA, he worked for the SingTel Group, where he designed and built Optus’ 3G + LTE mobile network, managed its IP network, and oversaw product development transformation. He also created and served as a board member for the network sharing Joint Venture between SingTel Optus and Vodafone Networks Pty Ltd (Australia).

Kevin Moore
Technical Trainer, Mpirical
Mpirical are a leading training provider for telecommunications professionals, specialising in high-quality training solutions and learning applications, working with companies across the telecoms ecosystem including service providers, network monitoring solutions, government, and equipment vendors.
Kevin’s interests span the evolution of mobile networks and the future of connectivity, with a focus on intersecting technologies such as AI, edge computing, and cloud infrastructure. He contributes to Mpirical’s work in delivering live and on-demand wireless technology training courses covering topics in 5G, 4G, emerging, legacy, and associated technologies.

Luiz Zoghbi
Spectrum Engagement Director, GSMA
In his role, Luiz focuses on advancing global and regional spectrum issues, including licensing, roadmaps, pricing, sharing, synchronization, coverage, and 5G international advocacy. He leads the GSMA’s campaign to secure harmonized spectrum for mobile broadband, collaborating with a team of regional experts to deliver spectrum policy and licensing best practices worldwide.
Luiz joined the GSMA in 2018 as a Policy and Future Spectrum Project Manager, where he was instrumental in leading the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (WRC-19) and coordinating the Future Spectrum Executive Group.
Luiz holds an M.B.A. from the State University of Rio de Janeiro and a Master’s (MSc) in International Management from the Université D’Angers, France.

Maria Sendin Valle
Anti-Trust Director, GSMA
Maria leads anti-trust compliance efforts and policy activities at the GSMA. She advises departments on all aspects of anti-trust law and follows competition policy and enforcement developments in the world, with a particular focus in Europe and the European Union Institutions.
Before joining the GSMA in 2017, Maria worked for the European Commission Competition Department and an international public affairs consultancy in Brussels, as well as for an international law firm in Madrid. Maria has a Bachelor degree in Law, a Bachelor degree in Economics and a Masters Degree in EU and Competition law by Carlos III University of Madrid.

Michael Charitos
Technical Director, GSMA
Michael specialises in Satellite Technology within the GSMA Networks Group. He has over 15 years of experience in the telecoms sector, including R&D and satellite communications.
His background includes roles at Industrial Systems Institute, Networks Group (CSN) Labs at the University of Bristol, Siemens Rail Automation & Mobility, British Telecoms, OneWeb SatCom, and AccelerComm Ltd.
Michael earned his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Wireless Networks from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Patras in 2014. He also held a position as a Post-doctoral Senior Researcher (4G/5G Telecoms) at the University of Bristol in 2015 and completed his Global MBA at the Alliance Manchester Business School in 2023.

Natasha Jackson
Head of Public Policy and Consumer Affairs, GSMA
dIn this role, Nathasha leads the association’s work on responsible approaches to trust and safety, which includes data privacy, security, and child online protection.
Natasha joined the GSMA in 2006 and has been instrumental in building up the association’s advocacy work in consumer affairs, notably founding the GSMA’s Mobile Alliance Against Child Sexual Abuse Content and the Mobile Privacy Initiative.
Natasha is a board member, and former Chairman, of the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) and is also on the International Advisory Panel of the EU Kids Online research network.

Noris Ismail
Data Privacy, Policy & Regulation, GSMA
In this global role, Noris serves as an expert and thought leader on data protection and privacy issues. He represents the GSMA externally with governments, regulators, and other key stakeholders to advance the GSMA’s policy positions and influence policymakers worldwide on privacy and data protection, including their intersection with AI, cybersecurity, blockchain, IoT, and edge technologies.
Noris has over 25 years of experience in compliance, technology policy, and regulatory affairs, having held leadership positions in global systems integrators, consulting firms, and non-profit organizations. He was also a former interim Data Protection Officer (DPO) for a global consulting firm based in London and a fractional DPO for global mid-market firms deploying mobile, cloud, and blockchain technologies, as well as AI. He has delivered extensive consulting, masterclasses, and workshops for various organisations, including Boards of Directors, C-Suite executives, and regulators.
Noris is a former Asia and European International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Advisory Board member and is currently serving as Diversity in Privacy Section IAPP Advisory Board member on a pro-bono basis.

Uche Ogbonna
Sustainability Director, GSMA
Uche has over 15 years of experience in sustainability and social impact strategy across various sectors, including telecommunications, banking, energy services, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). He holds a master’s degree in public and international affairs and a postgraduate diploma in public relations.
